The third edition of the yearly recital took place at MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels). As usual, students performed magnificently! Afterwards, they were in for a little treat: Individualized cupcakes! (made by our own volunteers of the program)
The second edition of the yearly recital took place at Westmount Baptist Church. Students from the program had once again the opportunity to perform in front of their parents and peers. It's amazing how much they have improved!
Our first activities night was a great success. We introduced music rhythm and note reading as well as basic keyboard recognition. The kids hopped on one foot to different rhythms, had a relay race of pin-the-note-on-the-giant-staff, learned how to conduct, and jumped on a big masking tape keyboard on the gym floor! This pilot evening at St. Gabriel’s School was such a success that we may follow it later in the year at the same school and/or at Ecole Champlain.
Students from both schools came together for an evening of great music, all provided by the kids themselves J. All students in the program were offered the opportunity to perform and there was very good attendance by both students and parents with standing room only!
